Should I buy fuel oil or a solar panel?
Us dogs can stomach a lot, but when a major news network accuses The Muppets of “using class warfare to brainwash our kids,” then I run for the door. It’s Fox News’ take on the new Muppet movie, the basic plot of which is that an oil tycoon is going to displace the Muppets in order to drill for oil.
So… that’s not brainwashing. That’s telling humans the reality of the world around them. I’m not exactly sure where the “class warfare” bit came from, but the Fox News guys were rather worked-up about it. Evidently, Muppets are a different class. Maybe they represent the average Joe.
Fox News made it clear that their main beef is any pro-environment stance from Hollywood (at all). As stated by the guest and affirmed by the host, “the only thing green that should be up there on that screen is Kermit the Frog.”
It really isn’t easy being green, I guess. Fox News host Eric Bolling continued to bash the Muppets, sarcastically asking if they had an Occupy WallStreet Muppet. Bolling called the movie “brainwashing” and an “indoctrination” multiple times, damning other children’s movies for any environmental messages as well.
Why is Bolling so un-green? Because his parents indoctrinated him! He says it to the guests while he interviews them. His parents would point out capitalist success stories as aspirational models. They didn’t mediate their message with any points about how the earth is the raw material for the goods that the rich humans purchase, I guess.
Maybe Bolling thinks we will be able to buy another Earth some day…
In the meanwhile, be like Bolling and close your eyes. Don’t look at what’s going on beneath the sociopolitical surface of the world around you. Don’t let you kids watch The Muppets. They might start recycling.
They might be inspired to develop technologies that would eliminate the need for fossil fuels. Oh, wait. We already have those.

Fox News is just the punchline to a joke. One day maybe those that are killing the planet will look around and realise that all the money and power they craved means nothing when they’ve run out of things to destroy.
same as last year,Rango-played by Johnnie Deppt a lizard that came to a town,where an old turtle who was the Mayor,owned all water….I always said an environmentalist wrote it,so when the parents took the kids to see it,they got a lesson too,great kid/parent movie.
It’s not easy being green.
My person says she hasn’t seen that movie yet but now she’ll have to make sure she does. She loves the muppets.

Jen says that it doesn’t seem to matter which way ya go, there’s always gonna be people who are only out for themselves, and plenty of people who don’t want to think for themselves that can be convinced to follow.
I dunno, I always had a feeling that Beaker was a sinister character, capable of world domination. Maybe he is attempting to brainwash us. Don’t look into his eyes man!
